Tuong (so-called classical theatre) is a century-old entertainment form of Vietnam that originated from China. Under China's occupation in North Vietnam, Chinese feudal officers brought this type of the entertainment to Vietnam. Tuong now is one of Vietnam cultural characteristics that the Vietnamese have made a great effort to retain, even though the young generation has less attention to this kind of entertainment.
