Terraced fields of rice in Ha Giang Province, Vietnam
Terraced fields of rice represent the colour of clay. This is the time after rice crop harvests, farmers take a rest or prepare another seeding. Terraced fields are typical images in northern Vietnam, This photo is a terraced field in Ha Giang Province, home to ethnic minority groups who live on farming and livestock husbandry. For time being, most young people quit their traditional industry. Some work as tourist guides to help tourists in tours in this area and ask them to buy some of their traditional items. Others leave their homeland to work in a big city. Some of the girls are trafficked to China where they become both wives and maids.
