An Influx of Worshippers Jostle to Burn Incenses in Thien Truong Temples
On the first days of March (the 15th of January of the lunar calendar), people crowded pack at some temples to pray the best for their loved ones. Around the midnight of the eve, thousands gravitated to some main pagodas across the country. They elbow out of the way to burn a bundle of incense and ask for some ash which deems good luck.
Some temple organised a ceremony of opening royal seal after which people ask for a seal on a paper as a sign of good luck. A phenomenon of crowding at some sacred places created thefts and robberies. Many people had lost their money or personal papers due to religious visits.
