Jumping over a fire festival, Ha Giang, Vietnam
Jumping over a fire festival takes place in Ha Giang Province, This province is located in the North of Vietnam and is home to many ethnic minority groups.
This festival happens at the end or beginning of the year. Local people want to thank God for productive crop havest and pray for good health, prosperity for their loved ones. Offerings includes sticky rice, wine and some incense sticks.
At a court yard in front of house, a family members put together logs of wood and burn them into flames, Then member of family jump over flames as the photo below.
Young people of ethnic minority community go on bare feet and jump over flames without feeling being burnt. It's really amazing.
