Boat Race Ngo, Soc Trang.

All professional boats start a race.

Boat Race Festival Ngo Soc Trang will be starting from 23 to 25 November 2015. This kind of activity couldn't have been missed in the traditional Festival Oóc Om Bóc in the community of Kmer

in Soc Trang Province in particular and Kmer ethnic minorities in Mekong Delta in general.

Groups of contestants in different coulours attract viewers' interest.

The festival is annually organised on October of lunar calendar. Each team is itself equipped with their caps, uniform. They are representatives of pagodas, communities or localities. All participants are young, professional, experienced selected in communities.

Prior to joining a competition, people make offerings to thank god and select young mem in villages. The organising committee divides teams into two groups: A and B.

Group A includes all boats which were ranked last year. The other consists of the rest. The sounds of drums, chien, shouts of people standing along both sides of river stir up the atmosphere.

Roofed area is designed for high level government officials.

Vietnam Governmnent encourages localities to organise these activities to retain and develop Vietnam's culture and raise awareness on environment protection among the public.
