Hon Khoi is a well-known landscape of Khanh Hoa Province, an hour drive by bycicle from Nha Trang City in the North. It is one of tourist attractions in a tour in Nha Trang City.
Early morning, rows of workers go to white salt fields, to carry full baskets of salt to villages. They work hard under scorching sunshine, however, their earning is not much. Their livehood is not stable.
Most of workers are women. With a pair of baskets, they work very early morning till late evening to feed their families.
Most of men have hardship jobs. They use rakes to gather salts.
Piles of salt are ready to carry to houses. Price of salt is not much, work requires toil and moil, tiredless effort. This is why young people leave their home land to big cities with a dream to change their fortune.
When they come to cities, some work in factories, some girls have jobs related to prostitution. Tragedies come about with them.
This is a loss young people in far remote regions have suffered. When they aren't well educated for high level jobs, they have to accept a life full of hardship.
