Con Dao Island, Vietnam

Con Dao includes a group of rocky mountain islands, islets. It is 143km away from Ho Chi Minh City, in the southeast region of Vietnam.

Con Dao also has a national park. This natural reserve is a project to protect endangerd species
including hawksbill turtle, green turtle, Ecosystems representing this project consist of seegrass meadow, mangro and coral reefs.

This island has a tragic history. It was used to be a huge prison complex to imprison revolutionists in French admistration, and communists in US-backed government. Nowadays, it is a historic relics for tourisms as well as for those interested in history.




 


Fishing boats come back villages.


Getting to Con Dao, tourists take a hydrofoil twice a week, US$ 73 per pax/ each tour. There is also flights from Ho Chi Minh City but it is not online booking.
