Some Vietnamese's favourate dishes terrify international tourists.



International tourists discover and find a lot of Vietnamese specialties delicious and interested. It is one of Vietnam's attractions in tourism. However, some Vietnamese's favorate plates scare international tourists such as the following dishes: 


Developing duck embryo:

Developing duck embryo (fertilized duck egg)


A developing duck embryo is one of Vietnamese's favourate, providing multi vitamines. It is very healthy, however, it is really a terrified dish for foreigners.

The duck egg is developing embryo, however, it is not major stage to give birth of duck baby. When we break the shell of egg, we see embryo like a photo above.

Coconut worms:

Coconut worm is one specialty of the Mekong Delta region. It is very delicious and healthy. But even some Vietnamese are scared with this dish. Seeing worms wriggle makes us scared.

It is very expensive, UD$ 25/kg and more than that when it is out of season.


Snake wine:

A snake and some herbe are soaked in wine for a while, Poison of snake is reduced. It is a kind of traditional medicine to cure some diseases and stimulate digestion.


Duck blood:

Duck blood is served without boiling. It is put with some boiled pork and chisel. Nowaday, it is warning not to have this dish as it is very harmful to human health. In reality, some serious disease caused by eating duck blood lead to death.


Rice field rat:

Rat eats rice. Rat dishes are delicious when it is rice harvest. It is one specialty in the countryside.
