Vung Tau, Vietnam

Vung Tau is not far from Ho Chi Minh City and a weekend resort for beach starved workers, expats who are working in Ho Chi Minh City and want to take relax after hard work days.

There are two kinds of transportation to go to Vung Tau: vehicle and hydrofoil. Hydrofoil services are not really safe means
as sometimes they are out of order in middle of sea. Tourists have to wait for another hydrofoil to transport to Vung Tau. Most of hydrofoils are expired.

Vung Tau is 50 minutes away from Ho Chi Minh City by hydrofoil or 2 hours by car. Ho Chi Minh City dwellers take vehicle very early in morning to go to Vung Tau around 8 o'clock and they have two days one night at sea.

There are a lot of hotels, restaurants in Vung Tau. However, it is very experensive and services is not good in high season. Tourists should avoid weekend trip. In restaurants, tourists should check prices before order dishes, they have cheated in various ways.

A 32m-high statue of Jesus extending his 18.3 m long arms on the top of 170m high Nho Mountain is seen from a far distance.

It is convenient for tourists to stay at hotels as hotels and beach are across a street. However, beach is dirty, local tourists litter a lot on beach.
